KP Technology has strong links with Science O3; a Caithness based charity operated by a group of committed professionals, including teachers, engineers, and scientists. Their core purpose is to bring fun and interactive learning experiences to people of all ages and from all backgrounds in the Caithness Community. This is achieved through the delivery of Caithness International Science Festival.
KP Technology CEO and founder, Professor Iain Baikie is the Chairman of Science O3 and Elena Koponen-Baikie, KP Technology Director is a member of the Management Committee. Iain was awarded an MBE in 2017 for his contributions to Science O3 and his efforts in promoting science education in Caithness.
Launched in 2003, and held every March, Caithness International Science Festival has grown to be one of the largest and most-loved events in the north of Scotland.
Caithness has a rich history of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths (STEAM). The festival aims to showcase the diverse nature of these important disciplines and celebrate how Caithness contributes to them, as well as welcoming presenters, lecturers and visiting Science Centres from across the UK and the rest of the world.
