You write that the SKP5050 has three motorised axes X,Y & Z. What is the Z axis for?


X,Y is the sample plane (i.e. scanning axis) where Z controls the tip to sample spacing. In a scan this is required if the sample is not perfectly flat or has not been mounted perfectly flat.
